Pam and Tommy wanted something special to welcome baby number three (girl #1) to the family, and decided to go with a double sided (and very girly) birth announcement/ Baptism invitation.

Printed in pale gray and pink on 220# Lettra.

Julie and Zac wanted a simple but special birth announcement for their son Liam. They really liked the idea of using a celtic trinity knot and were looking for a 1 color card. I convinced them to go with 1 color plus a blind (no ink) impression (it wasn’t very hard), and this is how it turned out.
stella artois (bennett baker)

I am sure that most of you who are old enough have heard of Stella Artois (warning: must be 21 to enter their site!) and are at least somewhat familiar with their logo:
Now look at this version:
Just one month ago, Terry (one of the very talented designers of Curious & Company) and her husband Josh welcomed their first child into the world: Stella Bennett Baker. As I mentioned in the post about her shower invites and thank you notes, Terry is not a fan of pink. It isn’t in her to design anything that isn’t smart and fun (and awesome). This announcement is no exception.
Elated and exhausted:
Baby proofed with the addition of a rattle and pacifier:
It just couldn’t be any more perfect.
Most of us go through that awkward stage where we find everything our parents do embarrassing or annoying (I certainly did). Hopefully Stella will move right on past that phase… In case she doesn’t, I’ll have a stack of these in reserve to show her that her parents are much cooler than she ever knew.
Terry and I have gotten to know each other over the past couple years and I quickly considered her a great friend. I am looking forward to our friendship in the years to come, and to watching this beautiful baby of hers (and Josh’s!) grow up.

fit for a chick

Terry of Curious & Company is expecting her first child (a girl- as you can probably guess by the color) this May. They decided to design her shower invitations and thank you notes around a baby chick (it happened to fall just before Easter). Both were printed in the perfect shade of salmon, for a mother-to-be who normally avoids pink like the plague. Always a happy medium…

paisley for paisley

This past summer good friends of mine had their first child; a beautiful girl named Paisley. They wanted something cute and pink, but not the in your face, throw up kind of pink… I drew up my own version of a paisley print for them to use on their birth announcement that was letterpress printed on 220# Pearl Lettra. We left just enough room for them to add her first photo.
She is still one of the cutest babies I have seen. Ever.
