animal facts and you

Tell someone “I love you” (or maybe “I hate you”?) and pass on a little insult and bit of knowledge of the animal kingdom at the same time!

I am finally back in Philly after a crazy few weeks full of (nearly) sleepless nights and non-stop printing. I feel so lucky to have participated in the Stationery Show with such a wonderful group of women in the Ladies of Letterpress booth. It was exactly the kick in the buns that I needed to really get going on my card line, and I couldn’t have had a better experience.

All of the cards will be available in my etsy shop soon and in a few new stores that I can’t wait to tell you about!

These invitations were designed by friend of the bride, Stephanie Icken (who doesn’t have her website up yet, but I’d be happy to get you in touch with her!). Both Stephanie and Sharon were a joy to work with, and these invitations were nothing, if not fun to print.

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves…

what the pho?

My brother Billy is in the process of finishing up the Chef’s Training Program at Natural Gourmet Institute. His class wanted to do something special for their Friday night dinner menu and this is what we came up with…

We wanted to keep the front of the menu simple, but Billy wanted to include a few (of his) illustrations on the back of the menu along with the names of the students and their instructor. Since the main course was pho, he illustrated a few simple steps showing their guests how to use chopsticks.

Definitely check out Natural Gourmet’s Friday night dinner if you happen to be in New York, and look for more of Billy’s work in the future!

large solids and baby birds

I had the pleasure of working with Robyn of Chick Invitations on printing her re-designed business cards; 3 colors on the front and a hefty solid on the back. There was a slight incubation period where all of the ink had to dry, but when these babies hatched I immediately fell in love.

I went on vacation. It was a few years overdue. Literally. My computer and smartphone had started to feel a lot like extra appendages, and they got a little heavy to carry around.

I saw a rainforest, swam in a bioluminescent bay, snorkeled, visited a tiny island with the bluest water I’ve ever seen. I met the happiest and sweetest beach bum dogs in existence, and stood in awe of how strongly the trees are rooted. Spent hours combing the beach for clues of other lives, and like a child, was amazed at what I found. So amazed, that my bag was 12 pounds heavier on the return flight. You couldn’t have punched the smile off of my face.

Refreshed and relaxed, I happily and gratefully go back to work…

These invitations were designed by Jane Branton for her friend Lisa’s wedding. The perfect mix of cute and fun- these were certainly a pleasure to print.

Kristen and Ryan were married New Year’s Eve 2010, on a freakishly warm day in Cleveland, Ohio.  They were surrounded by an immense group of family and friends who happily celebrated their marriage and rang in the new year.
